Join us for an incredible week of discipleship in Baja, Mexico! We have found an amazing opportunity to take your Young Life friends to Mexico to experience serving the poor and learning what it means to follow Jesus for life! Your high school friends will grow closer to Jesus by living in community and being a part of God’s work in the world.
We are putting together a top-notch discipleship experience that will connect learning how to follow Jesus for life and how to serve Him and others. We will stay in a beautiful facility in Mexico’s wine country that will serve as our base camp, and will depart each day for a missions experience. A team of Young Life staff will be serving on an assignment along with a YLA intern team. The camp speaker will lead morning devotionals and club talks while the Camp Manager and Head Leader serve you and your guests. Our intern team will help ensure all logistic run smoothly and invest in the kids you bring.
Time in Baja will consist of great devotional time each morning, an unbelievable adventure each day serving the people of Mexico, and a meaningful evening club back at camp complete with worship, talks, cabin times, and great community! Whether serving burritos to the families living on the garbage dump, or taking orphans to the beach, campers’ relationships with Jesus, with friends from home, and with new friends they are serving with will deepen tremendously.
We are offering one week of YL College, July 14-19 and one week of High School, July 21-26, 2015. Cost will be $495 per person. All groups will meet in San Diego and be transported to Rancho Sordo Mudo in the Guadalupe Valley via charter bus. The bus company is 5 Star Charters, which has been approved by Young Life risk management and has good standing with the Better Buisness Bureau.
Our base camp will be at a school for deaf kids which lies vacant in the summer months. The location of the Ranch, and where we will conduct our service projects is in a low-to-moderate risk level area, according to International SOS ISOS is a third party company Young Life contracts with to asses travel risk in foreign countries. Should the risk level rise to high at any point before or during the trip, all activity would be canceled and groups would not be allowed to go or would be sent home.
Each participant will be given travel insurance. This would cover costs incurred in the case of injury or change in travel safety if an individual or the entire group would need to be evacuated. We will have an assignment team of Young Life staff, a team of YLA interns and a medic available to serve groups.
For more information on Rancho Sordo Mudo where we will be staying, watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yapPNAVdMd4. The staff at the Rancho are excited to partner with Young Life by sharing the resource of their amazing campus for us to stay in. We are thankful to have a comfortable, safe place to sleep, eat, have club, and reconvene each day after our outing to serve in the nearby community.
